Bachelorette Party Themes

In recent years bachelorette parties have become as common as bachelor parties—but women tend to get a lot more creative! Here are WeddingOutlook’s suggestions for some fun and fabulous bachelorette themes that will send off the bride in style. Make sure you bring a camera!

Beachy Keen
This theme is a perfect complement to a summer or destination wedding. All the girls can dress in beachwear, such as flower sarongs, sandals, and tank tops. Only the bride should wear a white tank top! You can embellish the outfits with shell necklaces and/or flower leis. Serve up summery cocktails to the guests, such as pina coladas and margaritas. If you go out on the town, try to hit clubs that have outdoor spaces—or better yet, that are on the beach! Some bars in major cities have beach themes, such as Mo’s Caribbean in NYC, Bally’s Bikini Beach Bar in Atlantic City, and Ava in Las Vegas. If you play games give beachy-keen prizes, such as coconut-scented lip balm or body cream.

Beautylicious
A perfect theme for divas! Arrange a spa day for all the guests—everyone should coordinate to arrive and leave at the same time. Most spas are very accommodating about bachelorette parties and will secure a space for your party to relax and enjoy cucumber water together. Ask if you can bring light hors d’oeuvres to the spa for your guests to enjoy. It’s quite nice if all the guests chip in and pay for the bride’s services. This is a great option for brides who don’t want a crazy night out.

Color Me Pretty
This theme is whatever you want it to be—whatever COLOR, that is. If your bride is crazy about her wedding colors, parlay that into her bachelorette party. If her theme is pink and blank, everyone should dress in those colors at the bachelorette party, and all the prizes and favors should coordinate. We love the idea of buying colored feather boas in the bride’s colors—but get a white one for the bride!

Cowgirl
Really just an excuse to look cute in a cowgirl hat! All the girls should wear one, and the bride should wear a white one, of course. Dress in jeans and boots hit country bars with live music and little attitude. And if you can find a bar in your area with a mechanical bull, you simply MUST get the bride there!

Devil/Angels
This is one of our all-time favorite themes. The bride dresses as an angel—all white with a halo and wings. The rest of the girls dress in red and black with red devil horns and tails. Enough said! Serve red velvet cake at your pre-party. If you play games, give prizes such as red lip gloss or nail polish with a devilish name (e.g. “Lucky Devil”).

Naughty Schoolgirl
Here’s a theme that’s sure to make the groom’s bachelor party seem tame by comparison! All the girls should dress in naughty schoolgirl outfits, complete with knee highs, mary-janes, short plaid schoolgirl skirts, super-tight cardigans, and pigtails. The bride should be the only one wearing a white cardigan or shirt. Serve up a schoolbus cake at the pre-party. Give out party favors in mini lunchboxes (found and most craft stores). Play songs related to the theme: Van Halen’s “Hot for Teacher,” Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out,” etc.

Tea’s Company
Another great theme for a classy bride—reserve a table for your party at a fabulous tea house and indulge in tiers of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries. Give out tea-themed party favors, such as tea-bag trays, homemade tea cookies, or vintage tea cups filled with fancy sugar cubes.
